History of the faculty

The Faculty of Energy is one of the first faculties of the Pavlodar Industrial Institute, founded in 1960. Currently, S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University has three graduate departments in the structure of the Faculty of Energy: Electric Power Engineering, Thermal Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation. The main advantage of the faculty is the scientific and pedagogical staff of 67 scientists and teachers, 38 of them are settled: 6 doctors of sciences, 16 candidates of sciences, 14 associate professors (PhD doctors). The strong scientific potential includes several scientific schools, the founder of one of them is Kletsel Mark Yakovlevich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. He has patented more than 200 inventions. He is the "best inventor" of the Republic of Kazakhstan, In 2015 he won a grant from the World Development Bank.

At the Faculty of Energy, training is conducted in five bachelor's degree programs: 6B07106 - Electric Power Engineering, 6B06201 - Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, 6B07101 - Automation and Control, 6B07105 - Thermal Power Engineering. In 2022, a new innovative educational program 6B07141 — Industrial Robotics and Automation was developed and approved. This OP was developed within the framework of the Atlas of New Professions in cooperation with BTS Education LLP, partner enterprises of Eurasian Energy Corporation JSC, Aluminum of Kazakhstan JSC, Prommashkomplekt LLP and will be implemented on the basis of the university and partner enterprises with the involvement of students in real business processes implemented at enterprises.

The purpose of the training is to train competitive specialists to solve the problems of innovative industrial development of the country in the field of creation and application of algorithmic, hardware and software automation systems, control and control of technological processes, robotic complexes, as well as the formation of professional and personal experience in solving problems in the field of management of automated and robotic systems.

According to educational programs: "Electric Power Engineering", "Automation and Control", "Thermal Power Engineering" provides three-level education: bachelor's degree – master's degree – doctoral degree.
