At S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University was held "Model UN - New Silk Road" session.

Model United Nations - is a popular global program, which runs in a mode of brainstorming and student conference, which allows reproducing the work of United Nations. For one day, students transform into diplomats, act as representatives of the UN.

This program brings together the best universities of the world. They support the main ideas of the UN through training programs and courses for the maintenance of peace and democratic values around the world.

Welcoming the participants, the rector of PSU Aryn Orsariyev noted that these events offer opportunities not only to discuss the problem and publicly defend own opinion, but also contribute to the finding new friends and like-minded persons at the international level and in the region of the Great Silk Road.

The event was organized by activists of the program 'UN-Model New Silk Road "(Almaty) and devoted to gender issues and the work of UNFPA.

At this time, one of the issues discussed was the theme of the ban on abortion.

According to Rafis Abazov the executive director of the program, professor of Columbia University, "Model UN - New Silk Road" is a very important initiative. "This is one of the few programs in the region of Central and South Asia, which allows students to independently discuss various global issues and strengthen links between countries in the spirit of the traditions of the Great Silk Road", - said Rafis Fanisovich.

The most active participants were the students of Faculty the of Humanities and Education of Pavlodar State University Baurzhan Zada and Ekaterina Sannikova. Students approved themselves to be well-rounded students, showing that they can support the business conversation, able to clearly and simply present their vision of the situation, know English. As a reward they received a grant to attend the International Model UN, which will be held in the spring of 2017 in Almaty.
