Pavlodar State University in cooperation with the Department of Employment and Social Programs of Pavlodar held the tenth annual Graduate Fair on May 15, 2014.
Over 70 largest companies and organizations of the city and 808 graduates took part in the event.
Vice-rector for Development Strategy, Educational and Social Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Arman Akishev delivered an opening speech. He welcomed the graduates and wished them good luck in their future professional activities.
This Graduate Fair was attended by representatives of such leading companies and organizations of our city as Aluminum of Kazakhstan JSC, Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant JSC, KSP Steel LLP, Eurasian Energy Corporation LLP, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant LLP, Ekibastuz State District Power Station, Prommashkomplekt LLP, Pavlodar Electricity Distribution Company JSC, banks, construction companies, law enforcement bodies, etc.
Heads of organizations and companies expressed their good wishes to the graduates. Then there was a concert program featuring members of PSU Student Philharmonic.
After the opening part of the event, the graduates could talk to their prospective employers, find out their requirements, the labor market condition and current vacancies.
Students were able to submit their CVs to company representatives. Members of the Department of Employment and Social Programs held consultations for the graduates and showed them information from their bank of vacancies.
Head of the Department of Academic Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU Renat Nurgozhin stressed that the expected number of this year's graduates is 1,055 people from 56 specialties, including 247 graduates in Education and Agricultural Sciences that have already been employed.
'Every year the University holds graduate fairs aimed at helping employers find professional staff for their organizations, informing graduates about current vacancies and providing consultations on employment problems. This is one of the most effective forms of cooperation between the University and employers', said Renat Nurgozhin.
