Toraighyrov University took part in the republican scientific and practical conference “The Phenomenon of Academician K.I. Satpayev: Yesterday and Today”.

The participants discussed the legacy of the great scientist, as well as the achievements and prospects for the development of modern Kazakhstani science. The speakers and listeners were welcomed by the Akim of the region.

“This event is a tribute to the legacy of the academician, as well as an opportunity to discuss the achievements and prospects for the development of our science,” Asaiyn Baikhanov said. “Kanysh Imantaevich was not only a geologist, but also a person with a broad outlook and deep knowledge. His works formed the basis for the development of the mining industry in Kazakhstan, geological research throughout the country.

In addition, the conference hosted a ceremonial presentation of grants to seven young scientists in the region, including scientists from Toraighyrov University.

- Today in Pavlodar, the phenomenon of Kanysh Satpayev and how he influenced the history of our country were discussed. The man who stood at the origins of Kazakhstani science remains a significant and relevant figure today. His ideas about the need to develop science and education, about the importance of careful treatment of natural resources have not lost their significance. In the context of global challenges that modern society faces, Satpayev's legacy should serve as a guide for all of us and inspire new discoveries and achievements, - said the rector of the university, Yerkin Sadykov.

Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki, also visited Toraighyrov University. The guest visited the agro-industrial and chemical laboratories and told about the research potential of the university.

It is worth noting that the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Academician Kanysh Satpayev began with the laying of flowers at the monument to the eminent scientist.
