Dear Students!

A competition is announced under the Academic Mobility program for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students who are studying on a state educational grant (as of the 2025-2026 academic year) to study in the autumn semester of 2025-2026 at a foreign university in European countries, funded by the republican budget. The main criteria for the selection are high academic performance throughout the entire period of study, proficiency in a foreign language, and the evaluation by an Independent Expert Commission*.

There are two ways to submit documents for the competition: either by paper through the university office or via the e-government web portal www.egov.kz (hereinafter referred to as "the portal").

To submit documents via the university office, applicants must provide the following documents:

Documents are accepted at International Office 2 (Room 260).

List of Documents:

1. Application form (2 copies);
2. Questionnaire form;
3. A copy of the passport of the Republic of Kazakhstan citizen;
4. A transcript of current academic performance, certified with the university seal;
5. A document confirming proficiency in a foreign language (the applicant must provide one of the following documents):

• a) A certificate obtained through an international foreign language proficiency assessment system (IELTS, TOEFL), if available;
• b) A letter of consent from a foreign university to accept the student with their current foreign language proficiency;
• c) The result of a language proficiency test from a Kazakhstani university (Toraighyrov University), with a score no lower than level B2.

In the absence of the document specified in paragraphs a) or b), the student may take an English language test at the International Office (Room 260). To take the test, applicants must submit an application by email to mobilnost_psu@mail.ru by April 21, 2025.

       6.  A medical certificate (for traveling abroad), in the form No. 072/u, as approved by the Order of the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2020, No. KR DSM-175/2020 (registered in the Register of State Registration of Regulatory Legal Acts No. 21579) (hereinafter referred to as Order No. KR DSM-175/2020);

       7.  A written consent from the applicant’s parents, guardians, or legal representatives for traveling abroad, if the applicant is under 18 years of age at the time of departure from Kazakhstan;

       8.  A document confirming the applicant’s status as part of a large family;

       9.  A document confirming the absence of parents (for students who are orphans or have lost parental care, if applicable);

       10.  A document confirming the applicant's disability;

       11.  A letter of recommendation from the Dean and Department Head.

For submission through the e-government web portal, applicants must provide the above-mentioned documents.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 30, 2025.

If submitting documents through the university office, the document package must be submitted to International Office 2 (Room 260).

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OLYMPIAD IN ECONOMICS

On April 30, 2025, “Toraighyrov University” NJSC will hold an International Student Olympiad among students of economics, which will be held in several stages.

The form of event: online

1 Subject, goals

The subject of the Olympiad is the result of the learners’ tests and essays.

The main goal of the international Student Olympiad is to identify and develop learners’ creative abilities, interest in research, self-presentation, and teamwork.

2 The order of the Olympiad

The Olympiad will be held in the form of a team game in the following stages.

The first stage is the solution of test tasks and analytical tasks in online format in economic disciplines, which will be conducted to identify knowledge in the field of macroeconomics and microeconomics.

The second stage is writing an essay on the topic: “How digitalization is changing the labor market and education: challenges and prospects”. The essay must be prepared in advance and submitted by the team during the Olympiad. The time for the presentation of the essay is from 5-7 minutes.

3 Participants of competition

Students of higher educational institutions studying economics in 2-3 courses are allowed to participate in the Olympiad.

Students go through 2 stages, testing and essay presentation.

The team should consist of 2 to 4 people under the guidance of a senior lecturer, associate professor, professor of a leading profile department.

For participation in the Olympiad it takes to register via the link no later than April 25, 2025.

Participation in the Olympiad is free of charge. Registration after 04/25/2025 will be closed.

The Olympiad is held within the framework of the IRN grant project AP19676438 “Mechanism for ensuring balanced interaction of the labor market and the education system in the context of digitalization of the economy”.

The source of funding is the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
