Students of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University have always been active participants of the Academic Olympic Movement. They proved their high level of training and won prizes in this year's National Academic Olympics held in different universities of Kazakhstan.

The main goal of the Academic Olympics is promotion of scientific knowledge and development of students' interest in research activities, as well as creating the necessary conditions for identifying gifted children, selection and preparation of candidates for participation in international competitions, and raising the prestige of national education.

The team of students in Culturology showed great results this year. Gulsana Aubakirova, Elmira Bilyalova and Dias Shakenov took the second place (scientific supervisor: senior lecturer of the Department of Culturology Zhuldyz Kabidenova).

The program of the Olympics consisted of 3 rounds. The first round was Homework, the participants showed their presentations on Mangylyk Yel. The second round was aimed at identifying creative abilities of team members; discussions were held on such topics, as Perfect Youth and Perfect Country. The third round was called Erudite; it was aimed at identifying the theoretical knowledge in the field of cultural studies.

The PSU team received a cup and diploma for the second place, a DVD player, and certificates of participation. Participants of the competition and members of the jury were surprised by the creative approach, vigor and charisma of our team.

The team of biologists consisted of Diana Galymzhankyzy, Madina Zhunusova, and Mukarram Zhusip. Supervisor: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Biology and Ecology Aynagul Kaliyeva.

The tests and assignments covered such fields of biology, as genetics, human anatomy, physiology, parasitology, invertebrate zoology, botany, taxonomy, and zoological nomenclature.

Our team scored 202 points after 3 rounds and took the third place in team standings, the supervisor of the team received a certificate of participation.

Members of our team showed discipline, ingenuity and did a very good job, the results of which were positively evaluated by the jury.

Students of S. Toraighyrov PSU Almagul Zhetpisova, Diana Borovskikh, Darkhan Kairov (supervisor: senior lecturer Almas Sultanov) won the third place in Economics.

The largest universities of the region sent their teams to this year's Academic Olympics.

The team of the Department of Vocational Education and Environmental Protection (supervisor: Aygerim Zhakiyanova) also showed a good result at the National Academic Olympiad. Kuralay Moldabek took the third place. The PSU team received a letter of appreciation from the administration of Karaganda State Technical University.

Students in Political Science Aliya Aliakparova and Almas Mukashev took the second and third places respectively.

Nurmagambet Zhumadilov won the third prize in Psychology, Rakhat Archibayeva was awarded the title of the best team member. Supervisor: senior lecturer of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy Aygul Zhunusova.

PSU students worthily represented their home institution, the city and region, made maximum efforts and become one of the three strongest teams in the country, having shown great intelligence and erudition.
