Rector of Toraighyrov University, Yerkin Sadykov, has been awarded the medal named after Sagadat Nurmagambetov. The work of Toraighyrov University in patriotic education of students has been recognized at the highest level. For his contribution to youth development, the head of the university was awarded the Sagadat Nurmagambetov medal. The award was presented by the head of the Pavlodar region defense department, Bekzat Orazov.

Sagadat Nurmagambetov was an army general, the first Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a Hero of the Soviet Union, and a People's Hero of Kazakhstan. This year marks the 100th anniversary of his birth. A commemorative medal has been issued in honor of this event. It is awarded to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans, and service members of the Armed Forces, internationalist soldiers, military-patriotic organizations, active members of public organizations, and members of international organizations contributing to strengthening the defense capabilities of the state and the development of military-patriotic education for youth and students.
