The Department has the following laboratories: “Software and Hardware Tools for Information Processing and Management”, “Graduate Theses Laboratory”, “PC Hardware” and “Microprocessor Technology and Network Technology”.

Laboratory of Microprocessor Technology and Network Technology

This laboratory is multi-purpose, as well as other laboratories of the Department.

Students can use industrial equipment, controllers made by Siemens, GE Fanuc, and Trei, as an object of study for the construction of automated process control system.

For customization, configuration and programming of industrial controller, students learn how to work with specialized software Siemens STEP7, GE VersaPro, ISaGRAF. To visualize and monitor the progress of the process, students are encouraged to learn one of the SCADA packages Siemens-IGSS, iFIX.

PC Hardware Laboratory

In the PC Hardware Laboratory, students examine the computer's hardware and learn to assemble a PC out of separate components, diagnose and troubleshoot the equipment.

Laboratory of Software and Hardware Tools for Information Processing and Management

In the Laboratory of Software and Hardware Tools for Information Processing and Management, students are trained in many areas:

1. Computing complexes and systems; architecture for building distribution systems; network topology; modern data buses and protocols, such as RS-232, RS-485, GPIB, CAN, Fieldbus, FireWire, Ethernet, PCMCIA, SCSI, I2C, SPI, Modbus, etc.

2. Creation of automated control systems for various purposes: information systems; information-computing systems; information management systems; process automation systems for supporting decision-making management; automated control systems, designed for complex automation of all control processes on the basis of a systematic approach and modern opportunities offered by science and technology.

3. Setting up the web-server, as well as the design and development of client-server Internet-applications based on the use of technologies such as HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX, and JavaScript.
