In December 2014, the Kazakh National Technical University named after KI Satpayev defended his doctoral thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) Taskarina Aizhan Zhumazhanovna on the topic “Ensuring High Accuracy of Hole Processing Using the Combined Sweep” in the specialty 6D071200 - “Mechanical Engineering ".

In December 2017, Karaganda State Technical University defended a doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) Mazdubai Asylkhan Vladimirovich on the theme “Research and development of a resource-saving way of cutting metal blanks” in the specialty 6D071200 - “Mechanical Engineering”.

In December 2018, Karaganda State Technical University defended a doctoral thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy PhD Zhakupov Alibek Nygmatullovich on the topic: “Study of formation of the structure and properties of alloyed steels to improve the technology of casing and tubing pipes” in the specialty 6D070900 - “Metallurgy ".

A. Bogomolov - Executive in charge (leading researcher) on the topic of state budget financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan from ENU. L.Gumilev 4487 / GF4: Development and pilot-industrial implementation of innovative plasma hardening technology for wagon wheels (Project Leader - Kanaev AT) - the theme was successfully completed in December 2017.

Ass. Professor Kenbeilova S. Zh. as a research advisor won a World Bank grant to finance a project on the theme “Project to stimulate productive innovations”, GNSS (funding 320 million for the period October 2017 - 2020).

Ass. professors Bogomolov A.V. and P. Bykov as responsible executives won the World Bank grant to finance the Project “Innovative technologies for using solid industrial waste from heat and power engineering and metallurgy enterprises of Pavlodar region in the production of building materials” (financing 320 million for the period December 2017 - 2020, project manager - Aryngazin K.Sh.).

Executives Suyundikov M.M., Abdrakhmanov E.S., Nikitin G.M., Zhunusov A.K. applied for participation in the competition for grant financing of the MES RK.

Young scientists of the department - Associate Professor, PhD Asylkhan Mazdubai and Associate Professor, PhD Aizhan Tuskarina won the State Scientific Scholarship for achievements in the field of science.

Student research

Students of the Metallurgy Department regularly participate in research work.

In 2017-2018, 67 students and undergraduates were involved in NIRS.

Students and undergraduates published 53 articles at scientific conferences (Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference of Young, Scientists, Undergraduates, Students and Schoolchildren “XVII Satpayev Readings”, International Scientific and Practical Conference “IX Toraigyr Readings”, Pavlodar, PSU named after S. Toraigyrov).

Submitted 16 projects for participation in student startups, spinouts, scientific and / or social projects. Of them:

- Participation in the competition of start-up projects “Menin Armany” Kulmagambetova M., Dildibaev D., Zhakupov A., Belyankina Ya., Iliyas D., Bekzhanov S., Nygmanov R., Osipova G: in the semi-final Dildibaev D.

- Bolusbekova Ainura won the Republican Metallurgy Olympiad, Temirtau - 3rd place in the individual competition.

- Zhakenov A., took 3rd place in NIRS in the specialty 5B070900 "Metallurgy".

Undergraduate Zhakupova A.T. in the second Republican Workshop “Energy of the Young for Industrial-Innovative Development of Kazakhstan” received a prize in the nomination “The Best Presentation” (Astana, November 2017).

Educational and methodical work

The level of methodological support of the educational process is determined both by the state of the book fund of the NB PSU and by the active work on the development of its own teaching materials.

At the Scientific and Publishing Center of the Perm State University, educational and methodological developments of the department staff are published annually in the state and Russian languages.

Educational work

Educational work at the department is carried out in the main areas: university-wide events, public holidays; organizational arrangements; moral education; labor education and vocational guidance work; patriotic, international education; legal education; healthy lifestyle, tourist and sports work; environmental education; work in a hostel.

Each student group is assigned an adviser who systematically meets with the group, who is well aware of the state of affairs in the group, each student and his problems. Traditionally, the department holds such events as visits to theaters, museums, concert performances, etc. The curatorial hours systematically address issues of academic performance, attendance, culture of behavior, ethical and labor education, and others. Students have all the conditions for sports and physical education. For this purpose, 16 sports sections function in the PSU, in 10 out of which more than two dozen students and undergraduates specializing in the Department of Metallurgy are actively engaged.

Teachers and staff of the department are actively involved in sports events held at the university. As part of the faculty team regularly take prizes in various sports among the faculties of the university: in futsal it took 3 places; for power all-round team 2 place; general team 2nd place in over-ropeing; general team 2nd place in bullet shooting; 1 team place in volleyball.
