Galym Beisenovich Akhmetov was born in 1937 in Novosibirsk region. In 1958 he entered the S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. 1964 he was sent as a teacher to Pavlodar Industrial Institute. From 1972 to 1975 he studied in postgraduate studies at the Computing Center of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Moscow), where he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.  1976 - 1983. - Worked as head of the preparatory department of the Pavlodar Industrial Institute.

In 1985, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor of the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR. 1983 - 1996. - Head of the Department of Higher Mathematics at PII. 1996 - 1997. - Director of the UNPK of Physics and Mathematics Education of PSU named after S. Toraigyrov.1997 - 1998. - Head of the Department of "Higher Mathematics" of PSU named after S. Toraigyrov. 1999 - 2006. - Head of the chair of social-humanitarian and state-legal disciplines of Pavlodar State Law Institute of JSC KazGYuu. 2006 - 2008. - Head of the Department of Mathematics of Pavlodar State Pedagogical Institute. 2008 - 2013 г. - Professor of the Department of Mathematics of PSU named after S. Toraigyrov.

Akhmetov G.B. was awarded the medal "Veteran of Labor" in 1987, has a number of diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, twice awarded the medal "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" in 2007 and 2010 2007 and 2010, the title of "Honorary Head of Department".

Akhmetov G.B. published more than 80 articles, 20 textbooks on different directions in the field of mathematics and jurisprudence, 1 monograph. Repeatedly he was the chairman and jury member of Olympiads of different levels in mathematics, the chairman of state certification commissions, the head of scientific projects of schoolchildren (there are prize-winners and laureates of the republican level), master's theses, was engaged in reviewing scientific works, theses.
