Teachers of history and Kazakh literature of the schools of the region, representatives of the Council of Veterans of the Pavlodar Region and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan discussed multifaceted topics of S. Toraighyrov’s work.

The attendees got acquainted with the new project of the university "Sikyrly Toraighyr". It includes 18 directions for the improvement of the village of Toraighyr, the opening of a museum and an open-air cinema, the installation of information billboards and signs, the development of booklets and an electronic map with attractions. It is planned to translate the works of the Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov into English and Russian with a subsequent publication.

Also, on an ongoing basis, cleaning of the territory, etc. will be carried out near Toraighyr Lake.

A descendant of the poet, head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Toraighyrov, spoke about the birth of the father of S. Toraighyrov:

- An interesting fact is that his father was born thanks to superstition. There was such a rite when young people have children who die right after birth, which means, as they say now, the “evil eye” is on them. In this case, it was a custom to give the child to another woman so that she would take this negativity with her. After that, parents “buy” their child back. The newborn was given the name Aubakir, but since the woman wrapped him in old rags and took him away, he was called Shokpyt (rags). This name is so preserved for him. Initially, the aul of Toraighyrov was called Shokpyt.

The solemn awarding of the gold medal of S. Toraigyrov to the director of the museum of S. Toraighyrov Zhanar Aubakirova, chief inspector of Bayanaul State National Natural Park Altynbek Kurmanov and others took place on this day.

It is worth noting that the 11th Toraighyrov readings took place at 37 sections, 345 articles were published in 6 volumes.
