In the framework of the festival “Tіregі sender Elimіnіn” the Republican Olympiad “Zhas tolkyn” was held in Almaty.

The event was organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main goal is to support young people combining science and entrepreneurship.

Students from Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Aktobe, Karaganda and Pavlodar took part in intellectual competitions.

S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University was represented by a team of the Department of Biotechnology in the specialty “Technology of food products” under the guidance of Professor Galia Kazhibayeva, Candidate of Technical Sciences.

The Olympiad consisted of five stages, including sports, where our students took 1st place, testing in general education disciplines and a video about student life.

In addition, the participants presented the “Idea for a Million”, having considered the project for the production of national food products.

The main condition of the last round is innovation of the project and its focus on young people. Initial investment in it should not exceed 1 million tenge.

- There were many good ideas presented at the competition. I would like to emphasize the project of students from Pavlodar, the production of zhent. I liked the fact that you take it and implement it - even tomorrow! Moreover, the students brought with them the product, showed how they would pack and sell it. There are several useful components in this idea: firstly, hand made is a home craft, secondly, it contributes to the development of agriculture, and also promotes the culture of our national diet, said the jury member of the Science Council at the Foundation, member of NCE “Atameken” Gani Abadan.

According to the results of the meeting in the team event, the students showed excellent results and won the 1st place.
