S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University has once again confirmed its strong academic reputation, taking the 5th place in the National rating of the best multidisciplinary universities of the country according to the version of the Independent Kazakh Agency for Quality Assurance (IQAA).
The methodology of the National Rating is based on the Berlin Principles for Higher Education InstitutionsRanking, which put forward the requirements for transparency, adequacy, honesty in data analysis and justify measures to ensure quality to the ranking processes.
The assessment of the university's activity in the methodology of the National rating of universities in Kazakhstan is conducted according to statistical data, some of the indicators are taken from independent sources, such as the SCOPUS scientific publications database, ClarivateAnalitics (formerly Thomson Reuters), the Russian Scientific Citation Index (RSCI) assessment of the academic achievements of university students (VOUD), the number of graduates of universities that study within the Bolashak program, the number of teaching staff awarded “The best teacher of the university” by theMinistry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and also takes into account the opinion of the employersand experts.
The overall assessment of academic achievements is carried out on 6 indicators: the contingent of students, the results of student training and the number of educational programs implemented in the university, academic staff: faculty, research and innovation work, international cooperation, information support. The methodology also includes anaverage-weighted assessment of universities by experts and employers.
The results of the rating represent objective data for the SWOT-analysis of the activity of the university (studies of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and risks) and further improvement of indicators in all areas.
