The scientific project "Trends and prospects for the development of active tourism in the Pavlodar region", which was presented on the republican contest "Gylym Sharainasy" by the students of the Tourism Department of S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Aliya Tukuyeva and Anastasia Sasko, won the first place.

The students created the mobile application "KazGeoTour" and the guide "PavGeoTour", calculated a separate service of 4-day boat-handling raft on the Irtysh River (from Lebyazhye district to Pavlodar).

The results of the work, presented at contest, will form the basis of cooperation with GeoTwo company with the support of the Government of Korea and the National Geographic Information Institute of Korea, the Public Association Pavlodar House of Geography, the Federation of Parachuting and other organizations.

In addition, this project was recognized as the best in the regional competition "Ideas in the field of IT technologies".

According to Aliya Tukuyeva, the favorable geographical position, proximity to Astana, the presence of cultural, historical and natural sights in the region is a brilliant proof that the Pavlodar region has a very rich tourist potential.

"The possibilities of river tourism are not used to the full, and, in my opinion, this is a significant omission in the benefit. Rafting is one of the most popular tourist destinations among young people and people who prefer active recreation. In Pavlodar region there are many settlements are located along the Irtysh River and allow to receive tourists. Mobile application "KazGeoTour" developed by us, allows anyone to book internal and external tours, as well as to get acquainted with full information about cultural and historical monuments", - said A.
