The round table on "The historical and international importance of the December rebellion of 1986 in Kazakhstan", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the December events was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar state university.
Addressing the audience, the deputy akim of Pavlodar region Meyram Begentayev said:
"The preamble of the Constitution emphasizes that creating statehood on the native Kazakh land, considering ourselves attached to the ideal of liberty, equality and harmony, on the basis of our sovereign rights, we adopt the present Constitution. These constitutional principles determined the content of youth slogans on the demonstration in Almaty in December 1986. December events in the history of Kazakhstan played a positive role in general because they contributed to the development of national self-creation ", - says Meyram Mukhametrakhimovich.

“December events significantly reinforced ethno-political union of Kazakhs as a nation. At the same time, there was no break in the traditional friendship of multi-ethnic and multi-religious Kazakhstan society. The Russians, Germans, Ukrainians, Uzbeks and other diasporas living in Kazakhstan, were sympathetic to the national aspirations of the Kazakh people", - said Aryn Amangeldiнevich.
