Meeting of the heads of environmental services, representatives of the scientific community and political parties took place on the day before in S. Toraighyrov PSU.

Opening the meeting, the rector of PSU Aryn Orsariyev expressed the opinion that the participants of the roundtable in association with CF “Center of ecological technologies competence” should see their goal as integration of civilian sector efforts in actualization of ecological issues, searching the suggestions and recommendations regarding the solution of the most important issues of environmental conservation.

On the agenda was discussed the topical environmental issues, in particular, promoting the innovative sustainable technologies, and local initiatives. The importance of regional government institutions actions concerning integrated surveys of radiological situation on the STS territory and decision the issue of reversion them into the economy was mentioned on the meeting. Participants emphasized the significance of local commitment in water-resources management and also reliance on improving the monitoring, enhancement of laboratory facilities, sharing with ecological information between authorities and informing the public.

As a result of negotiation platform has adopted a set of recommendations which will be included to the Resolution: to solve the problem of accumulation of hazardous industrial wastes on the industrial enterprises landfills and the problem of the accumulation of municipal solid wastes, to prevent the unregulated off-flows discharge into the Irtysh River and other water bodies of Pavlodar region, for improving the air quality, to provide control of emissions at the borders of sanitary protection zones of large manufacturing outfits in real-time mode.

 Disputants agreed to continue this work on a permanent basis and to prepare the collective strategy.
