Toraighyrov University hosted the annual international scientific conference "XXIII Satpayev Readings" dedicated to Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev, an outstanding Kazakh scientist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, the first president of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

 - When we talk about the preservation and enhancement of Satpaev's heritage, we mean the development of scientific thought.  In the era of modern technology, you can not stop at what has been achieved even for a minute.  Today, projects, that offer innovative and safe production, solve important problems for people and make their life easier are needed everywhere.  We, in turn, are always ready to support scientists and researchers who provide new knowledge and innovations that can truly change the world, - said Asaiyn Baikhanov, akim of Pavlodar region.

 - We must actively promote a scientific approach to solving practical problems facing society.  That is why business, authorities and the scientific community need to continue to look for common ground.  In this way, we will increase the applied nature of scientific research and get the opportunity to implement and commercialize them.  I have no doubt that, as in previous years, the Satpayev Readings will become the starting point for generating new ideas and scientific developments, - said the rector of the university Yerkin Sadykov.

 In addition, the Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nukhuly Altynbek, Deputy Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asylkhan Bibosynov, as well as the granddaughter of Academician Kanysh Satpayev, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Alima Zharmagambetova  made a welcoming speech.

 In addition, there was a launch of commemorative events dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Academician K.I.  Satpayev.  Let us note, that the "Readings" were held within the framework of the week of science.
 
 On the Day of Science, the head of the region met with honored scientists, and school students presented scientific projects on the creation of an integrated mobile device for fuel, the development of an air purifier, a simulator for the development of fine motor skills of hands, etc.

 Danat Akimzhanov and Ilana Arantayeva presented their project to develop biodegradable chitosan-based patches for rapid wound healing.  They use shrimp shells, which go through two stages of processing to create patches.  Schoolchildren plan to conduct the first tests of products on mice.

 Daniya Artykbayeva and Zhaniya Zheksembayeva presented reusable clingfilm based on beewax.
 - It is an alternative to clingfilm.  It can be used alone to cover something or as a package.  It preserves food better than food.  The napkin is created of beeswax and cotton fabric.  The product is reusable, moisture resistant, washable and reusable.  Cotton fabric, 5 grams of wax and parchment paper aree needed to create a 10-cm napkin, the schoolgirls said.

 Adel Toragayeva presented the development of an air purifier based on algae.  With the help of a compressor, polluted air will enter the tank, the cleaning process will be carried out there, and the purified air will flow through the fan.

 Let us recall that the conference received about 1200 articles from many regions of Kazakhstan, in total about 40 breakout sessions were held in 8 scientific areas.
