A meeting with bronze medalist Daulet Shabanbay and his coach Orazaly Mukhametalimov was held at Toraighyrov University.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Federation of United Wrestling in Pavlodar region.  Also, the head of the sports department of the department of physical education and sports of Pavlodar region Oleg Kolyev spoke with words of gratitude.

 - All of you probably know that Daulet was awarded a bronze medal at the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London.  In fact, right now he is one of the main sport stars of Pavlodar region, and personally I am very pleased that Toraighyrov University has such an eminent friend.  Looking at Daulet, his determination and willpower, the boys and girls who do sport today will certainly become champions in the future.  Ak zhol, Daulet!  - wished the rector of ToU Yerkin Sadykov.

Let us recall that three years after the decision of the IOC, the bronze medal of the Olympic Games-2012 was awarded to freestyle wrestler from Pavlodar region Daulet Shabanbai.  This is the first award for athletes from the Irtysh region at the Summer Olympics.  At the Olympics in London, Daulet Shabanbay completed his performance in the weight category up to 120 kilograms in fifth place.  However, later, in 2019, after rechecking doping samples, Georgian wrestler David Modzmanashvili and Artur Taymazov (Uzbekistan) were convicted of using illegal drugs.
