Toraighyrov University is the leading university of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It has been an academic and scientific center for the industrial and innovative development of the economy in Pavlodar region.

Academic process is a dominant process in University. It is providing relevant and modern three-stage educational programs (EP) on the educational market.

Department academic activity is conducted in accordance with the development strategy of the NAO «Toraighyrov University» for 2020-2024.

Biotechnology Department provides education in bachelor's and master's degrees for 6В07203/7М07202 «Food Technology», 6В05102 / 7М05102 «Biotechnology». Doctoral students training (PhD) on specialty «Biotechnology» was approved in 2021.

Educational programs have been accredited by Kazakhstan Association of Modern (elite) Education KAZSEE in 2019. Certificates are valid until 2024 (https://kazsee.kz/reestr_accreditovannyh_programm_vuz_spec /).

Educational programs and course programs are developed and implemented in association with the enterprises of the region:

- 6B07203 Technology of food products" - JSC «SUT», LLP Agrofirma «Akzhar Ondiris», LLP «UMMA ALIANCE»;

- 6B05102 "Biotechnology" - KH Mingazova.

The master's degree programs are carried out within the framework of the multilingualism program, 30 % of the courses are conducted in English.

English language group has been formed in 6B05102 «Biotechnology» educational direction since 2020.

The department carries out a large-scale international project Erasmus+ «Project Erasmus+ No. 609563-EPP-1-2019-1- DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP Internationalizing Master Programs in Agriculture via English Medium Instruction (Improve _AGRO)/ Internationalization of Master's degree programs in agriculture through teaching in English» in association with European partners and partner universities from Russia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan, funded by the European Union. The project contributes to the modernization and internationalization of societies in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia by expanding their opportunities for internationalization of master's degree programs by bringing them to EU quality standards, the introduction of English as the language of instruction (English Medium Instruction -EMI), as well as the introduction of a mixed learning format (Blended learning); mobility of students and teachers between Asian and European universities training specialists for agriculture and forestry; to increase the accessibility of higher education, especially for the most vulnerable groups; to develop joint degrees (double/multiple diplomas). Educational and methodological materials was reviewed and approved at the Meeting of the Biotechnology Department by Protocol № 1 from 08/27/2021 to provide educational and methodological support.

Students of the department had participated in Republican subject Olympiads. The Republican subject Olympiad is organized in order to identify the special professional abilities of future specialists and support talented students. «Food Technology» team took the 2nd place in XIII Republican Subject Olympiad, organized by Almaty Technological University (ATU), held on April 08-09 in 2021, Almaty. Team members: third year students Balakina Mahabbat, Kakanova Arailym, Khayrol Sunkar. Kakanova Arailym also became the winner in the individual championship and had taking 2nd place. Team leader: master's degree, Mukhamejanova A. S. The team was awarded a diploma of ATU II-nd degree, the winner of the personal championship a II-nd degree diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Employment meetings were held for students with invited employers:

- 14.10.2021 – «Turkey PVL» LLP, «Pavlodar KUS» LLP, Acting Director Katkadamov V. E.;

- 04.11.2021 – «Caspian International Restaurants Company» LLP, company representative.

Professional orientation work is undertaken by teaching staff constantly. According to vocational guidance framework following meetings with school students and college students were held:

- 7-10.11.2021 - meeting with colleges of the Pavlodar region - Pavlodar Technological College, Pavlodar College of Service and Nutrition;

- 10/27/2021 - meeting with the Aksu College named after Zhayau Musa.
